What is the Olympic Dreams Network?
The Olympic Dreams Network twins schools from six continents
The Olympic Dreams Network is a group of British schools partnered with the schools of the World Olympic Dreams (WOD) athletes.
Olympic Dreams Network met in London
The British schools were selected in 2010 through Olympic Dreams School Search, a BBC and British Council competition.
Their prize was to attend Olympic Dreams Live, a special British Council event in January 2011 which took place at the British Museum.
Olympic Dreams Live brought together teachers from all the schools involved, as well as a pupil from all the secondary schools. More than 80 schools from 17 countries attended.
Together, they started planning their partnerships, and formed into teams clustered around the WOD athletes. (Coming soon: find out about the Teams below)
World Olympic Dreams
- 26 stories of athletes from around the world following their journeys to the London Olympics
- From USA to Ulan Bator and Bradford to Brazil, athletes are competing for their chance to win Olympic gold
The Olympic Dreams Network and World Olympic Dreams project regularly collaborate, with the BBC's correspondent and gold-medallist Olympian Matthew Pinsent bringing you the best stories from schools everywhere.
