Swindon
postman, Peter Willis, transformed himself into JM Barrie’s famous
character ‘Peter Pan’, to launch Royal Mail’s latest special stamps
issue.
The richly colourful stamps feature Neverland’s favourite characters
including Tinkerbell, the Darling Children, the Crocodile, Captain
Hook and the ‘Boy Who Wouldn’t Grow Up’, Peter Pan.
Peter, who delivers post to the local town of ‘Hook’ in Swindon, posed
for photographs with giant versions of the new stamps at the Royal
Mail’s local delivery office in Wootton Bassett.
He then flew off to ‘Hook’ where he was joined by his sworn enemy
Captain Hook aka local postman Ian Doris.

The stamps commemorate this year's 150th anniversary of Great Ormond
Street Hospital for Children, in London.
Great Ormond Street had a unique association with Peter Pan author
JM Barrie. In 1929 Barrie donated the rights to his famous story to
the hospital so that it could benefit from the play's royalties.
