Local Hero - The Vote!

Our judges have decided.

After much discussion, deliberation and debate Wiltshire's and Swindon's Local Hero has been chosen.

Click on the links below to learn more and find out how to vote!

The judges had a difficult task on their hands, choosing who from Wiltshire and who from Swindon would go forward to join those nominations from Bristol, Gloucestershire and Somerset.

The West's chosen Local Hero is to feature in a 40-minute TV documentary, which will explore their life and why they have proved to be such an inspiration. The programme will be shown on BBC1 later in the Spring.

Now the juries have returned their verdicts! and two names have been chosen to represent Wiltshire and Swindon...

For Wiltshire the photographer, philosopher and classicist: William Henry Fox Talbot.
For Swindon the explorer and motivational speaker: David Hempleman-Adams.
