It's Panto time at the Salisbury Playhouse and this year it's the classic rags to riches tale of Aladdin.

Aladdin is one of the oldest and best known pantos around and the Playhouse's take on it promises to serve up adventure, mystery and pot loads of Christmas magic.

Jake Thornton (Wishy Washy) and Victoria Lugg (Aladdin)

Opening on Saturday December, 6, the month long run follows the adventures of the good-for-nothing ragamuffin Aladdin.

Aladdin, despite a heart of gold, is a bit strapped for cash so can't believe his luck when the dastardly villain Abanazer (Boo Hiss) offers to take him to a cave stuffed with enchanted treasure.

But Aladdin is, to say the least, a tad disappointed when the treasure turns out to be a rusty old lamp. Until, that is, he finds out it's a magic lamp
with a resident magic genie and magic wishes to give away.

With his magic lamp and amazing magic carpet Aladdin takes on the dastardly villain Abanazer and ends up... well, that would be telling.

With an original script, original music, oceans of bling bling bejeweled costumes and some stunning oriental scenery Aladdin has all the elements of a thigh slapping, it's behind you, boo, hiss, on no it isn't, oh yes it is, sing-along pantomime.

And if last year's treat, Dick Whittington, is anything to go by it will definitely be a good shout for the kids and have enough innuendo and 'over their heads' comedy for their parents.

Enjoy!
