Comedian
Freddie Starr has been, by turns, amusing and outraging Britain
for 30 years with his unique blend of edgy outrageous stunts and
madcap comedy.
Wiltshire
fans will soon get a chance to see him live on stage when his current
UK tour stops in at The Wyvern Theatre in Swindon on Sunday 16th
June.
Born
in wartime Liverpool, Freddie was very involved in the 60s music
scene and enjoyed stints entertaining in Hamburg alongside The Beatles.
Freddie
stole the show with his gags and impersonations and it was not long
before he went solo with his own hilarious stage show.
In
1970 his big break came when he was invited to appear at the prestigious
Royal Variety Performance and he was the first performer in 47 years
to be allowed an encore.
Following
that appearance, his career took a meteoric rise and since then
Freddie has delighted audiences over the past 30 years in summer
seasons, clubs, cabaret and television shows.
He
has variously been described as madcap, outrageous and crazy. Freddie
Star is all of these things but he is also an accomplished actor,
an outstanding ballad singer and a brilliant impressionist.
His
current theatre tour has been described as unforgettable and not
to be missed.
Freddie
Starr will be appearing at The Wyvern Theatre in Swindon on Sunday
16th June at 7.30pm.
The
show is expected to be a sell-out so fans are advised to book early.
Tickets cost between £15.00 - £17.50 and can be obtained from the
Wyvern box office on 01793 524481.
