Super
Furry Animals famed for hits such as 'Juxtapose' and 'Golden Retriever'
are to make a flying visit to Wiltshire as part of their current
UK tour. They play Salisbury City Hall on Monday 5th April.
The
band are considered to be one of the most creative and experimental
of the current crop of Welsh acts.
They
formed in Cardiff in the early 1990's, after playing in various
other Welsh bands and techno outfits.
In
1995 they were signed to Ankst, the famous Welsh indie record label.
Super
Furry Animals (the name came from T-Shirts being printed by Gruff's
sister) released their first record, the ambitiously-titled 'Llanfairpwllgwyngllgogerychwyrndrobwllynyngofod'
(In Space - 1995) to massive critical acclaim.
Their
debut album 'Fuzzy Logic' released in 1996 consolidated their success.
The band have continued to be a fixture in the charts since then
and their sixth album 'Phantom Power' reached the No.4 spot in the
UK album charts in 2003.
Super
Furry Animals play Salisbury City Hall on Monday 5th April. Tickets
are priced at £15.00 and can be obtained in advance from the
City Hall box office on 01722 327676. There will be a booking fee
of £1.00.
