My
Boy Jack - a dramatisation of author Rudyard Kipling's life is coming
to Theatre Royal Bath.

My
Boy Jack is the name of a famous poem by author Rudyard Kipling.
It was Kipling's paen to his son John who was lost in World War
I.
The
play of the same name runs at Theatre Royal Bath from Monday April
26th and is a dramatisation of the events that saw the loss of Kipling's
son.
The
year is 1913 and Britain is on the brink of war with Germany. Kipling’s
dogged determination to send his young teenage son to the trenches
triggers a bitter family conflict. It also leaves the patriotic
poet torn by his two great passions: his love for children, particularly
his own, and his devotion to King and Country.
This
compelling production features two of the UK 's most recognisable
actors. David Haig, who played DCI Grim in The Thin Blue Line and
appeared in Alan Bennett's Talking Heads stars as Kipling and Belinda
Lang plays his wife Carrie. Belinda appeared as Bill Porter in eight
series of the BBC1 sitcom 2 Point 4 Children and has recently been
seen in the West End in Things We Do For Love, Life x Three and
The Secret Rapture.
My
Boy Jack runs at Theatre Royal Bath from Monday 26th-Saturday 1st
April. Tickets are priced between £11.50-£26.50 and
the theatre box office can be contacted on 01225 448844.
