Now perhaps better known for the state of his love life, it is often overlooked that Les Dennis once enjoyed a highly successful career on the stand-up circuit.

Recently he returned to this medium after trying his hand as a game show host, actor and reality TV contestant and his current UK tour stops in at Swindon's Wyvern Theatre in May.

Often acknowledged as one of Britain's most popular entertainers, Les hosted perennial TV favourite - the game show Family Fortunes as well as the ITV primetime entertainment show Give Your Mate A Break.

In 1997 he made his big screen debut in the film Intimate Relations with Julie Walters and Rupert Graves and has made numerous acting appearances on TV including stints in Crossroads, Brookside and Casualty.

His many theatre credits include; Me & My Girl, Don't Dress for Dinner, Skylight, Mr Wonderful and he recently returned to the West End stage for a season as Amos Heart in the award winning hit musical Chicago at the Adelphi.

In late 2002, Les added another string to his bow when he came third in popular reality TV show Celebrity Big Brother 2 and helped raise thousands of pounds for charity in the process.

His current tour promises an evening of comedy as Les looks back on a career celebrating 30 years. The tour drops into the Wyvern Theatre in Swindon on Sunday May 4th.

Tickets are priced £12.50 or £14.50 and are available from the Wyvern Theatre box office on 01793 524481.
