The Theatre Royal in Bath is well-known for its outstanding seasonal pantomime's and this year's production of 'Jack and the Beanstalk' promises to be the best yet.

Telling the story which includes a gigantic beanstalk, Daisy the cow, magic beans, a goose which lays golden eggs and two brothers, Jack and Simple Simon trying to please their poor old mother, Jack and the Beanstalk remains one of the best-loved pantomimes of all-time.

It runs at the Theatre Royal in Bath from 18th December 2003 to 25th January 2004.

Toplining an all-star cast is a familiar face from our TV screens - actress Sherrie Hewson who is playing Fairy.

Sherrie is possibly best known for playing Maureen Grimes in Coronation Street between 1993-96. Her character had the dubious honour of marrying Reg Holdsworth and then Fred Elliott!

Since leaving Weatherfield, Sherrie played Virginia Rave in the short-lived revamp of the motel soap Crossroads and can currently be seen on ITV1 daytime show Loose Women.

Sherrie is no stranger to pantomime having appeared in nine productions during her career. She is delighted to be appearing in Bath for the first time and promises that the show will be "funny and magical and a great time will be had by all."

Co-starring with Sherrie in Jack and the Beanstalk is Graham Seed who is playing The King. Graham can currently be heard in Radio 4's long-running soap The Archers as Nigel Pargetter.

Graham has also appeared in many TV and film productions throughout his career including Brookside, Band of Brothers and Gandhi.

Jack and the Beanstalk promises to be a truly exceptional show with something to please both adults and children alike.

It runs at the Threatre Royal in Bath from December 18th 2003 to January 25th 2004. Tickets can be purchased from the Theatre Royal box office on 01225 448844.
