Earlier this year 20,000 members of the British Public sent in their suggestions for the top 50 things everyone should do in their lifetime.

So we thought we'd put together the top 50 things you should do in Wiltshire before you die...

Well we say 50 but that's not exactly true and some of them are not quite in Wiltshire but you get the gist.

So whether you think you've done it all or just want a check list of what to do sit back and strap yourself in for a rollercoaster, or at least quite bumpy, journey...

Visiting the Tropics in Swindon

Top 50, or slightly less, things you should do in Wiltshire before you die:

11: Walking the Inca Trail OR Walking Salisbury Plain. Despite a lot of Salisbury Plain being taken over for army training there are still loads of public footpaths you can take. And I'm sure the Incas would have walked it if they'd lived in Wiltshire.

13: Visiting a Paradise Island OR Visiting the Tropics in Swindon. It's lush, it's tropical, it has cascading waterfalls and free-flying butterflies and it's conveniently just off the M4.

Driving a Formula Ford at the Castle Combe Racing School

14: Driving a Formula 1 Car OR Driving a Formula Ford. Yes you can do it in Wiltshire at the Castle Combe Racing School. So you get to play Nigel Mansell or an International Playboy.

15: Whitewater Rafting OR Getting to your home in an inflatable dinghy. Check out our gallery of flood pictures from last winter.

16: Walking the Great Wall of China OR Walking the Ridgeway. Eighty five miles long and the oldest road in Britain... and almost visible on a satellite image...

Zorbing just outside Swindon

17: Doing a bungee jump OR better still go zorbing. Strap yourself inside a giant beach ball and be hurtled, rolling and bouncing down a steep Wiltshire hillside. Forget bungee jumping that was just a fad.

19: Driving down Route 66 OR Driving around and around at the new 700 metre go-karting track at Wessex Raceway.

20: Helicopter Tour over the Grand Canyon OR Helicopter Tour over Robert Evan's Crop Circle which was supersized in a wheat field at Highworth near Swindon. If you get really close to the screen you'll feel like you were actually in that chopper.

21: Travelling on the Orient Express OR Travelling around the Museum of the Great Western Railway - it's not just for train spotters you know.

Riding a Recumbent Bike at the Castle Combe Circuit

22: Bathing an elephant OR Bathing yourself in the soon to be, or maybe soon to be, opened Bath Spa Project. In fact when it does open you'll not only be able to bathe in Bath's spa water but in an open air pool on the roof of the spa. The elephant can go through the car wash.

24: Riding a Harley Davidson OR Riding a Recumbent Bike.
It can hit speeds of 80 miles per hour and will definitely get you noticed.
