I watched a food demonstration by Melba Sheffield at the Mela on Saturday, after purchasing some goods from her stall I had a go at making Pilau rice at home and.... It worked tasted great and went down a storm with the family. The Mela is a fantasic event for all ageswell done to all involved.

This was my second time in a row here and I really had a blast..they should organise this twice a year if possible..

Fantastic event, thanks to every who helped organise and participated in the day. it was my first time and enjoyed it thoroughly.. it was great to just sample a little bit of Asian art and culture.. thought it was very busy so im all for a weekend event next year..

This is such a good event I enjoyed it and so did my children something for everyone!!!

My first trip to Swindon when your Dad was living...lots of beautiful memories...n jason was only 5 year old then...Love...Joe.

Well done to the committee for another brillantly organised Mela and a special thanks to Mina Bhogal for all her effort and hard work.

Thank you to the Mela organisers for a really great day out. I think the Town Gardens is an ideal location for this sort of event and contributes to the whole atmosphere. The only problem is the lack of parking.
this mela good

A very good day out. could not have asked for anything better,i really enjoyed myself

Loved the Swindon Dhollies! The whole afternoon was fab, with some very healthy tasty food available

Spice Hut
Not so busy you say? Compared to last year of around 17,000 we had at least 19,000 to 20,000!!! We know we ran out of food!

holistic health
It was my first time booking a stall at the Health Zone - I would like to thank Mina for giving me the opportunity to participate on the day and for Jack in looking after all the therapists. You have all worked very hard to bring such colour and diversity to Swindon and I along with other therapists, I am sure, wish you all the best with future Mela's.

Congratulations to the Mela Exec, Liz Lavender, Matt Davis and his wonderful team for a very successful day. The hard, hard work paid of in the end - here's to an even better one in 2008!!!

Very fun day out, nice weather with fun activities, i agree with it becomming a 2 day festival. A++

Celia Ford
Brilliant - thanks to all concerned - had a lovely day and glad the sun did shine for all

Mrs R.
My first visit to the was really lovely! I enjoyed the day with my family. The negative for us was to see the food stall handling money with gloves AND picking up food. Why didn't someone collect the money ONLY, and food was picked up with gloves, that were changed frequently. Needless to say, we didn't buy any food, even though we were so hungry. Please take this comment on board.

We do they not do it in Lydiard park or somethingloads of parkeing and the site is alot bigger

Crystal Tips
Well organised with a great atmosphere and turnout. I wish Swindon Council would do more things like this during the summer...

wkd, not as busy and hyped up in the previous years though.

Nick Saunders-Cox
This was the second Swindon Mela I have been to and it seems to be getting better every year. Highlights for me included the Punjabi dancers and the Sikh Martial Arts team who were, in a word, fantastic.I personally hope that it becomes a two day festival.

Sonny H
Another great event the 2007 Mela yesterday, Saturday 28 July 2007. Delightful family day out: most enjoyable. Thanks to the Organisers and Sponsors.

Unni Nair
I have been seeing the Mela for the last 3-4 years. It is improving year after year. You get to see a sample of the whole fabric of different Asian culture in a day. We can expect much more variety next year also.
