Outdoors and Attractions FeaturesYou are in: Wiltshire > Entertainment > Days Out > Outdoors and Attractions Features > A TREEmendous Day Out ![]() A TREEmendous Day OutHave you made a New Years resolution to keep fit or help out in your community? Well here’s your chance to make a difference! As part of Get Volunteering Swindon! Agents 4 Change have a gardening project at Lydiard Park on Saturday 8th March from 10.00am – 3.30pm. This is a re-arranged date as an event planned for January was postponed due to the weather. There are 11,000 young trees that need tending to. The protective covers need to be removed from around the saplings, the grass and weeds need to be cleared and the covers replaced. It is not a particularly skilled job so anyone can join in! This is going to be a huge event with BBC Radio Swindon & Wiltshire and many local voluntary organisations are also getting involved. There will be snacks and refreshments available on the day. However, volunteers will need to bring a bottle of water and a packed lunch. Volunteers will need to wear warm clothes, a waterproof jacket, Wellies or sturdy boots and a pair of old gloves to protect their hands while gardening. If you are interested in helping out and are aged between 16 and 25 you will receive an Agents4Change certificate for your help. The time you commit to helping us on the day can also go towards your Millennium Volunteers certificate! All this will look great on your CV. This project is going to need a large number of volunteers to make it a success. You can come along with friends, family or on your own.
