UNDERGROUND - BBC Radio Swindon and BBC Radio Wiltshire's weekly radio show dedicated to local bands and musicians concluded with the sixth and final show in the latest series on Sunday 1st July. Listen to the show online by clicking the link down the page.

Every week UNDERGROUND featured the latest local band demos, a guide to the best gigs taking place around the area, band interviews, exclusive live sessions, gig reports, and interviews with Wiltshire music scene movers and shakers.

This week, presenter Daniel Garrett invited James and Darren from Swindon rockers Satellite 17 into the studio for a chat.

The band - who have been together since 2000 - have released an album which is available on iTunes, and have another in the pipeline.

They also market their own popular brand of merchandise, have filmed a professionally-produced video for their song 'Skip School Casanova' and have a UK tour planned for the autumn.

The band also recorded two songs in an exclusive live session for UNDERGROUND which were played on this week's show.

The Swindon Shuffle

There was a summer festival theme for the final show this week. The local music scene Mover and Shakers on the show were Neil Gammon and Rich Craven, the organisers behind the Swindon Shuffle weekend of gigs planned for July.

Over the weekend of 20th-22nd July, over 40 bands will be appearing in numerous venues in the town, and the ambitious festival is already creating a buzz amongst local live music fans.

Also UNDERGROUND roving reporter Will Walder investigated how to legally attend any of this year's national outdoor festivals absolutely free of charge. In his report, he spoke to festival expert Ollie Joyce from Box who gave some handy tips.

And Shaun Buswell returned for 'The Buzz with Buswell'. As it was the last show of the series, instead of a rundown of the best local gigs taking place in the coming week, Shaun talked up the numerous large outdoor musical events happening in Wiltshire over the summer months.

On the UNDERGROUND playlist this week were:

Lighterthief - Desperation
Halagoogoo - 'Miniature Men'
Charlie Bath - 'Still There'
Seven Years On - 'Impossible'
Satellite 17 - 'Satellite Boy' (Live)
Satellite 17 - 'Masonic' (Live)
The Haiku - 'Not Enough People are Wearing Hats'
Jon Trowbridge - 'Survive'
Hate Induced Coma - 'Taken'
