UNDERGROUND - BBC Radio Swindon and BBC Radio Wiltshire's weekly radio show dedicated to local bands and musicians continued with the second show in the new series on Sunday 3rd June.

Every week UNDERGROUND features the latest local band demos, a guide to the best gigs taking place around the area, band interviews, exclusive live sessions, gig reports, and interviews with Wiltshire music scene movers and shakers.

This week, presenter Daniel Garrett invited Tom and Ollie from Cricklade progressive techno-metal trio The Dive Bomb Revolution into the studio for a chat.

Just one of the band's recent claims to fame is they were named MySpace Band of the Month in Total Guitar magazine. they are also due to play London's Party in the Park concert in August.

On the show, Daniel played some live material they recorded for UNDERGROUND recently at a local gig.

Wheatus

Wheatus in Swindon

UNDERGROUND correspondent Will Walder reported from once-mighty US rock band Wheatus's modest gig at Area 51 in Lower Stratton in Swindon this week.

He found out if the band were humbled at playing a venue usually reserved for unknown local acts, and how Swindon acts Four Forty Nine and Jeff Like Usual felt about supporting the band famous for hits such as 'Teenage Dirtbag' and 'Respect'.

Also, the local music scene Mover and Shaker this week was Sam Robson from Trowbridge-based Edgeless Promotions. He was on to talk up the many gigs they put on in the West Wiltshire area, and to plug the prestigious Battle of the Bands contest he is organising, which is due to kick off in Trowbridge shortly.

And Shaun Buswell returned for 'The Buzz with Buswell' - his weekly round-up of all the best gigs taking place in and around the county over the next seven days.

On the UNDERGROUND playlist this week were:

Slovakia – 'The Neverending'
Soe’Za - 'Brackish Water'
Mecca – 'Was Held Up'
The Dive Bomb Revolution - 'Flailing Trees'
The Dive Bomb Revolution - 'Trigger Finger' (Live)
Old School Tie – 'Nuclear Child'
The Mentalists – 'Don't Know What to do With You'
Veer Luth – 'Weeks'
