Lee, who lives in Trowbridge, was beaten 6-5 by Ronnie O'Sullivan in Saturday's semi despite at one stage having a commanding lead.

The 31 year-old was 3-0 up before throwing the advantage away, losing a last frame decider at the Wembley Conference Centre.

Lee said: "I got on top of him (O'Sullivan) in the first couple of frames which knocked him out of rhythm and he didn't look good at all to me, but I didn't take advantage of it. I'm just a bit peeved to have let him off the hook when he's not at full flow."

In reaching the semi-finals of a competition for the first time in more than two years, Lee beat Stephen Maguire 6-0 and Graeme Dott 6-5 as his recent poor form improved. "It feels like I've won the tournament. I've got a lot more belief now and a bit more confidence and I'm looking forward to the rest of the season."

After clinching victory against Lee, O'Sullivan went on to be beaten by John Higgins in Sunday's dramatic final 10-9.
