Howell is "full of confidence"

Wiltshire golfer David Howell says he is full of confidence, despite narrowly missing out on winning competitions two weeks in a row.

It is six years since his last tournament victory in Dubai, and Howell must be one of the first golfers ever to lose back-to-back play offs as he did in the British Masters and Irish Open in the last 10 days.

However, the second place finishes have moved him up to 30th in the world rankings and earned him more than £3000,000.

And Howell says as well as he's been playing, there is still more to come.

"Many aspects of my game are fantastic at the moment," he said. "My short game, my chipping and putting and my eyesight was fantastic last week. But the big negative last week was that I was driving the ball very poorly.

"I know that when I have a week when everythnig comes together I'm going to be very difficult to beat."
