Swindon Life Model: The Naked Truth

Stripped naked and scrutinised for hours by a room full of strangers. Welcome to the world of the life model...

For anybody suffering from a poor body image the idea of standing naked and being scrutinised by a classroom full of school boys would be the ultimate in harrowing nightmares.

But for Rosemarie Orwin this extreme form of therapy has not only proved to be a confidence booster but has turned out to be a nice little earner as well.

Rosemarie, a former manager at WH Smith in Swindon, found she just couldn't bear office work anymore and decided it was time to bare all instead.

Rosemarie Orwin - Life Model

So, a year ago, she decided to become a life model:

"I had a friend who used to model at Newbury College," says Rosemarie, "and she said she really enjoyed it and said it was easy.

"I've never had any confidence in my body and thought well it's a bit extreme but I'll give it a go."

Rosemarie's debut class in the buff turned out to be a group of 40 year old art buffs from Oxford:

"It was very nerve racking because I'd never been in front of a group of strangers with my clothes off before.  And of course they're standing behind their easels measuring you and pencils are coming out at you.”

"But literally after I'd finished I came out and punched the air with complete euphoria saying 'I did it, I did it'.”

Despite not being the quintessential voluptuous, big breasted muse, since taking her clothes off Rosemarie's career has quite literally taken off.

Rosemarie Orwin - Life Model

She now poses for art classes, sketching groups, sculptors and photographers all over the south of England.  But even as a seasoned model some classes can still prove to be a bit of a challenge:

"The first boy's school I went to, I didn't realise it was a boy's school and I actually did blush.  I went into the room and the first boy came in and than another, and than another and I thought this is obviously a boy's school.

"I thought 'Calm down, just control yourself, you're old enough to be their mother'.  Anyway I just calmed myself down and it was fine but I could feel the beads of sweat coming up and it was quite nerve racking."

For life models, stripping off and posing for anything from a few minutes up to an hour without a break, it pays not to get too artistic with your poses:

"You don't know if it's going to be comfortable after 20 minutes and even now I'll choose a pose quite often that I'll think after 20 minutes 'I really shouldn't have done this one'.

"When I first started I was obviously very keen to please everybody and do what they wanted and I would sit in a lot of pain without saying anything and I've almost literally crawled out of the door I've been in so much pain."

And as for trying to keep still, no matter what, for Rosemarie it's all a question of mind over matter:

"Sometimes when you have a really desperate itch and you have to scratch it, you can make yourself believe that it's not itching and it does go away.  It's amazing what your mind can do to stop certain bodily functions… shall we say."

Rosemarie Orwin - Life Model

But pain, tedium, boredom and chilly drafts aside are the final artistic results flattering?

"Facially, I would say most of the time, it's not flattering. I look quite gruesome, body wise that varies, but I don't take that as a personal thing.”

And you can see why…

Rosemarie's diary is filled to the end of May, she has body painting bookings for a corporate event in Reading, is being turned into a range of ornaments for an international ceramics company and is even perhaps to become a model for a mannequin sculptor.

And just in case there's a chance of Rosemarie having to spend too much time with her clothes on she's organised a series of life drawing workshops in Swindon the first of which, on March 20th, is already booked out…

Rosemarie is sitting pretty in every sense of the word…

"It sounds odd, I know, but I do feel a lot more confident.  I don't know why it’s just the way that’s happened."

Rosemarie will be the life model for New College Swindon’s first ever Life Drawing course.  The classes kick-off on Monday 19th September and run for ten weeks between 6.30 and 8.30pm at New College’s Queen’s Drive campus.

I am in my late forties and work as a life model but when I was in my teens and twenties although I would happily sunbath topless I would never have considered life modelling. My husband was a naturist when we met and while he was happy to sunbathe nude it was years before I removed my bikini pants on the beach. Then a friend of ours who was a life model suggested that I try it but the thought of being the only naked person in a room with other people horrified me. I acclimatised by being naked at home with our life model friend which proved to be easier than I had imagined. Then on my first modelling day the nerves that I had imagined never materialised as I undressed at the side of the art room while they waited for me. The worst part was the anticipation not the doing. Now as long as I'm not too bored I'm happy to be a nude life model.

Nude modeling is a blessing from God because you become a tool of God's creation through the artist's eyes. It is an amazing experience I invite all of you who are body-shameful to go through once or twice in your life. You will see life differently after this wonderful experience. God bless you all.

Noel Gutierrez
Nude Modeling is an art form that has been practiced for many years and it allows artists to express their view of art in many forms. Michaelangelo and Raphael as well as many other great artists used models to do their masterpieces. Art is good for the Soul and it's also a windo for inspiration to create music as well. I think this form of Art should be admired by all in general.

I have done part-time life modelling for some years now - it is great to see artists learning how to draw the body, and from a personal point of view as a nudist, it is good to further expand and promote the acceptance of a nude lifestyle. I would be interested in modelling in Swindon if the opportunity arises.

Andy
I have done 2 life drawing classes as a nude male model, being a naturist I love the liberating feeling of being naked. after the second session 1 of the artists gave me 1 of their sketches which I happily framed and hung on my wall at home, of the friends and family that have seen it 40 % now want to try it themselves. I would recomend any person to try it at least once, you'll be surprised what it does for your self esteem and confidence.

Mike Robinson
I,m an artist in manchester.Wish I could find a model locally as suitable as Rosemarie-I,m sure there are some about but hard to find

Sam
I was inspired by you Rosemarie ,after about 2 years today i did a short nude modelling for a fine art student. It made me confident.Initially i was with trousers ,later i asked the student if he is willing to sketch me nude.He said yes, then after a few seconds i stripped off .i was really great, that my body was presented in a artistic way.

Mirko
I congratulate with Rosemarie because it's a great tribute to the art and an expression of freedom

shams
she is hot

Darren.
i am interested in becoming a life model myself. where do i go/contact to start?

Chris
I have been a nude model for six years. There is no problem from the students and it has done wonders for my self confidence. Once my clothes are off i dont even think about it. Its quite relaxing you should all try it.

maggie
i was thinking to be a life drawing model..still thinking now.....

George
I am surprised that the nude is a subject for school art classes; I always thought that, unless it was a privately arranged session, the artists would have to be at least eighteen years of age. This would rule out a number of sixth formers.

dave earl
I'm waiting to start as a life model...I'm so excited about the thought of people drawing me on a blank canvas...

mirko
I believe it's a wonderful experience yet it's more for the women.Male models are less required for the workshops

ibin
she is awesome

Kevin .
As a part time life drawing model myself, I only have to admire Rosemarie's honesty & conviction in her article. Being a life drawing model is a collabrative effort. You work with the artists. You are an artist your self being the model. It take great effort & patience. As for the nude issue , Well , I found after the first time it is no big deal. The human body is a work of art. And it is to be admired & studyed.

Katie Porter
I'm a forma trapeze artistnad alway been involeved with the arts painting myself & feel inclined to being nude model now inmy later years...a liitle scarey...but would would like to know who you recomend in Kensington & Chelsea to approach?

Zeenat
Hey, I really want to become a model but the problem is thati'm still in school but i wouldn't mind doing it part time although i have no idea where to go to become a model just like how Tasha said' and i wouldn't go as far as underwear or nude as i am still in highschool and i do not want to expose my body at this age'the furthest i will go to is a mini skirt,i'm really glad that i have come to this site so that i can tell you what i feel bout coming a model, thanks ciao.

Sam derby
I would love to pose nude this women strips off in front of artists gets on with art fantastic would love to pose with her great courage and in gd taste go girl

werre
beautiful

Scott
As a life model registered with RAM & an A level trained artist I tried life modelling years ago to subsize my studies. After a brief introduction with another model & the students we were seperated into two groups & we made our way down a corridor at which point I nearly did a runner out of an emergency exit.I went through with it & then stopped until I spent some time in London & learned of the Register of Artists Models.Life modelling is now helping me tp pay my way through university but I still get nervous when disrobing in front of younger students. However,I have a gym honed figure so what the heck,Ill flaunt it until I graduate & I enjoy drawing the nude now & then aswell.

david melville
hi from nz i would like to say that being a art model gives you selfconfidence as once you have been naked in a room with other people who are dressed you can face any situation .I also like seeing different artists attempts at drawing . I'm hopping to do won of spencer tunicks mass nude instalations one day

Jonathan Steward
I agree with Rosemarie a model in the life class is a very important part of the artistic process and is there to help teach and inspire the artist to greaterthings by observing a living model the hardest thing to draw accurately is the human body as any little mistake is noticed because we all look at the human form all day long the artists model is a living breathing tool.Anybody who thinks it is liberating is missing the point I have been an artists model for 19 years and consider myself to be an intrinsic and important part of the artistic process if I do my job correctly and to the best of my ability there is nothing sexual or liberating it is hard work and I get a kick out of being part of a process making new artists and helping old ones.

I_AM_A_NUDIST
I want to be a life model as well. Currently I can not. But I hope that one day I will be able to. Hopefully for a friend that likes drawing. (I don't think I'm quite ready to go in front of a class.

Gary
Well done Rosemarie. I am a 52 year old male nude model. I started doing this about 6 months ago. I am not attractive by any means, but I find that the modeling has made me feel more confident and has given me a better body image. I also enjoy seeing the pictures when they are done. Keep up the good work Rosemarie!

Daniel
It seems it's all out in the open! I found artmod dot org and there are plenty of work notices for models...

jack
very good

Mitchell
Great Article as a fellow nude model, and nudist I'm glad to see it, I'd recommend anyone to try it we need to break down our bounderies whenever possible

chaud
its fantastic it gives you an insight to feel the true nature and the vivedness of the human nature in attracion of the body. You can as well feel the glimpse of the soul through the naked body..neverthless a marvellous effort..

teresa
I have been a life model for 4 years now,It started by accident as I thought I had been asked to pose for a portrait class. When I arrived everyone came in and then the tutor said you can remove your clothes behind the screen,I thought it would be more embarrassing to walk out (and a lot of other things crossed my mind to)and so began a new career!I am now 46 years old have had 3 children and would call my body interesting ,so I suppose there is a place for all sorts of body types in this job,I am always busy and love what I do ,every class is different, and I have met some really interesting people through this work.I have had various other jobs that fitted in with family life, dinner lady ,classroom assistant, sales assistant but like this one best of all!

paul
i have been a life model for several years and i must say it is brill.

Henrik Bemark
I do nude-modelling for art classes in around Copenhagen, Denmark, and I been doing so for a number of years. Its a great thing for me to do, because it makes feel coinfident with myself, and it makes me want to take care of my body in a proper way. Besides that, I find it exiting to see all the very different drawings of me.

Eddie
hi. You should not adopt this profession because it put a bad effect of childs and young people also. In addition to this. you should try to indulge yourself in other activites. If you want to get calmness and satisfaction in life, quit this at once.I assure you that you can't be happy in your whole life by doing things like that. sorry if i hurt you...

Phillip
I am currently trying to find a place for my first modeling career.I love being nude as I am a nudist.I feel that this is something I have been thinking about doing and want to do.If I fail,at least I had a chance to try.I want to be the best model I can be.Have gotten in touch with some colleges near me.Hey Rosemarie you need somemore models to pose!!!

Mike

I have just started getting into it after drawing from the life model since age 16. It kind of happened by accident a year ago. I wish I had done this earlier in my life, part time since I found out how much I like it. Having been an artist, portrait and figure, for over 20 years and a graduate of Ont College of Art, I prefer life modelling part time as it keeps me totally immersed as an artist instead of having a part time income that is Unrelated to the art world. That way I can take on commissions, sell and also have life modelling as a third income option. I have started very late, 40, and it's a slow go getting bookings over seasoned models but I love it and understand it from Both sides (artist and model) which causes me to actually be pretty good at it. The first instructor who booked me, as an emergency choice, actually passes my name to other instructors in the field of art education. It is strenuous though. It's tough on the muscles. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience with it. The more I research, the more I feel confident I won't be a boring and unchallenging life model for artists.

andy
good

Jill
I am glad to hear that this woman has become more confident posing as a life model. After overcoming anorexia, I am always happy to hear about stories that celebrate the beauty of all human bodies.

phillip whiteman
I would love to be a model also!

Ian Skillcorn
I have been a part time life model at a local college for about 4 months and i love the job. Its good to meet so many different people and to see how they see you in there eyes in the finished drawing. Before i started been a life model i was and still am a naturist so i have never felt ashamed about the way i look.It allso gives you more confidence in the "real" world. I found out about the job by just ringing up local college's to find out if they neaded a life model since then my phone has never stoped ringing with people wanting me as there model. Give it a try its brill.

Jude
Inspiring story. Did not know there was so much in it. Well done Rosemarie!

Mike F.
Rosemarie is right...its not about some sexual high, or exhibitionism, or anything similar. Its about providing a venue for artists, a catalyst as she says. I have modeled nude for life drawing classes in Colorado, and find the artists to be friendly and respectful.

fresh student
Im a student in college and i started modeling my freshman year. The first time nerve recking, but now i really like it. I intend to do it for a long while.

Tim
I have worked on and off (so to speak) as a life model for years, but work is much harder to get for males. I would say the average woman could actually make a living, but that's just not true for men.

marjan
I realy like to be a life model how caI start

mahendiran.m
nice. i like it. life is nature.

Alicia
I don't really know what to say. I guess it is a type of art but it makes me realize there are some stuff that models do that they feel very uncomfortable with.

marc
sounds really fun, how do i go about doing it?

Samantha
I have recently split up with my boyfriend, who wiped out my confidence. A friend of mine suggested trying out being a life model, help rebuild my confidence. Can anyone tell me how to get started. Thanks

Darren.
can you send me details on were to go or contact as i would like to earn extra cash as a life model.thanks.

Shankar
Hi i'm from Chennai,India willing to be a life model.I want to experience the joy which you have experienced.I even met may fine arts students they hesitate to work with volunteer life models.

G Thornton Hunter
As an artist myself I worked as a model during my college years and again for the Art League of Alexandria, Virginia, USA. I found it a wonderful challenge to find poses that inspired the artists attending the classes. I have monitored life classes as well and appreciate the work a model puts into their work. It's not always easy but I found it quite enjoyable most times. One definitely learns to temper one's poses to fit the time frame.

ROSEMARIE Orwin
Many of the comments below only re emphasise the Miss conceptions that exist around Life Modelling. It is NOT about "Getting a boost", Feeling free annd liberated infront of a group of strangers" etc, True Life models are not trying to exhibit themseleves - rather be an intrinsic part ofthe Artistic process. We are Catalysts for the Artists endevours - NOT sexualy provocative beings! Do not confuse ART with Pornography! If you are in ANY doubt - visit my web site www.modelled.me.uk to see the range and scope of my LIFE Modelling - OR www.fineart.me.uk to see practical examples of my photographic work

SP
everyone should try it at least once, there is nothing as liberating as being nude in front of a clothed audience

Paul
I started posing nude as a life model after my long relationship ended. I have an A level in Art and have drawn nudes before and thought what a confidence boost it would be if I stripped off and modelled myself. The first time I did it I was petrified but once I got home and thought about it I got a tremendous buzz. I have since modelled 7/8 times and it really does not bother me at all now. What is the big deal about being naked?

corey
i really would love to model for single classes or even rooms full of people it doesnt matter to me!!

Asok Sadan
It's really amazing. Im a sculptor / 2D character animator from India. Its really hard to find a life model here in India. I wish if im there with you, so that i can better make some realistic sculpture with your support and help

John
It all seems very embarrasing, but seeing as I am virtually broke, how do you go about arranging this,

stuart
is there much demand for a male life model?

Don Merkle
I am a writer seeking a peek into a model's mind. This is as good a source as I have come across yet.

Lorie Elise
I currently life model and find it gives me alot of time to think and relax, I'm very intersted in art and love to see all the lovely drawings afterwards. I'm considering doing more life modelling, can anyone give me any advice on getting started or getting my name about? I', a grphic designer too, do you think it would be worth designing a little business card and giving it to local colleges and art groups?

Amanda
I admire your courage. I'd love to know how I too could get started

Michael
i would like to pose nude as a model so please get in touch

Simon
Being naked from head to toe in front of several strangers is a weird concept but nothing unusual once you get used to it. It just becomes another job, but i prefer it to office work or bar work. You have time to think about life. And once the students have seen your "bits" once they hardly notice second time round. Standing nude in front of a clothed group makes you feel powerful almost. We all have genitals, pubic hair, nipples and a bottom so what is there to be ashamed of?

~Virginia
This sounds great to me, how do I get started??

narelle
I have been approached by 2 different men in 2 different countries to be a nude model for them - I have a classical renaissance shape and style I guess. I never took up the offer. Now I wish I did. Id love to have a painting of myself on my wall as art. Gentlemen ask me again - Ill say yes!

Bill
I too am a life-drawing model, and I really enjoy it. Not only is it fun, but one can get paid for it also. I would encourage anyone with an interest to give it a try.

Amani Cable
I first live modeled at Colorado Mountain College in Aspen. Yes, it was a little drafty. I, too, was nervous even though I was mostly a "private" nudist with some public beach experience. The short poses are more relaxing. It's the long poses that give me the opportunity to watch the mind chatter as I meditate. I found the opportunity in the classified ads of the local paper. Today I'm in Austin TX & will call the local art schools to see what opens. The long poses and sculpture posing, and stories about them, reminded me of being an "accident victim" for an emergency drill at a nuclear power plant in PA in which I had a broken neck. I lay still during the whole 4 hour process, from the cement floor in the reactor building, the ambulance and emergency hillicopter ride, to the hour being "washed off" in the hospital emergency room. I got chilled and stiff. It took me almost 2 hours to recover. Yes, long poses are challenging. It's where the real live model demonstrates their mettle.

Debbie
The nude body it beautiful. I wish we all appreciate the beauty and live a nude lifestyle. Keep up the good work.

Debbie
I love to look at the male and female nude body. What beautiful forms. I admire those who model nude and the artists who capture the beauty. Maybe I will try nude modeling one day. I wish we all enjoyed living a nude lifestyle.

shane gosper
Im an male in my early 30's and wanting to nudity modeling is there any demand for men at all or all females only!!!!! I live in sydney so was wondering if could assist me with contacts if any....

Luke
I was a life model in Wales in 1980-86 and met many interesting people who gave me confidence to be myself. I was thinking of those special times to-day when 'click' I arrived at this web site. Now older I thought I may use the teachings of the life classes to paint a reasonable nude figure. If I lived near Swindon I would be at Rosemarie's course but I live in Assisi Italy and a life model is difficult to find. If you (Rosemarie) can organise a group I can organise cheap accommodation and a studio. If you want to e-mail me I will answer any questions you may have. e-mail: lukeassisi@hotmail.com

Roe
Well done Rosmarie! I'm rediscovering myself as I haven't model in 25 years. But recently, my lifelong friend (the healthy one) died of a massive correnary in his classroom. So I've since lost 28lbs., have worked out everyday since Sept. 1st, 2005 and am just now going to model for college art classes again. I've been motivated by my wife of twenty-four years, our children, and my students. You see, I'm an educational administrator! I wonder how many grown students I'll meet! Wish me luck! I must be mad!!!

Noel E. Gutierrez
I truly admire all nude models because it's not always easy to stand without moving in fornt of people you may not know totally nude. It is an experience I highly recommend to go through in life.

leon
I've posed nude for art classes. It is fun. Relaxing, really

ian holdway
i want to be anude model get in touch please ian

butterfly
Just the information I needed as I have just signed up to the local art collage as a life model. Having been a naturist in the past, this will help in the new phase in my life.

Matt Gilmore
Very infomative, I'm 46, fat and out of shape. are there places for me?

Nataya
Oh, Rosemarie! I so wanna be in your path. I'm now practising poses since I did my nude photos a while back and have been my worst critic only to realize that I do enjoy being photographed naked and is dying to know more on how to become a nude model. It's like giving back to the art I've taken so much from. I'm thinking of making this a professional day job.

Trisha Drury
Rosemarie is inspiring to draw, I have done so many times. Brilliant!

Michael
Good for u Rosemarie. I have modeled several times nude and it is something special.I live in Montana and it is hard to find artists here interested in having you model.I would be willing in modeling for a group or single artist(s. I love art and the artist.

Beverley
Good for you - go girl

Rodrigo
Hola Escribo desde Chile. Me parece que lo que hace Rosmary es fabuloso. Yo al igual que ella soy modelo de desnudos y es fabuloso estar posando completa y absolutamente desnudo ante extraños , es de una libertad increible!! Bueno me despido Chao! Translation by Editor: Hello I write from Chile. It seems to me that what makes Rosmary is fabulous. I like she I am model of naked and is fabulous to be putting complete and absolutely naked before strangers, it is of an incredible freedom! Good I take leave Ciao!

Miguel
Rosemarie, i just read your story. I am a photography model and sculpture live model as well. In my last sculpture sesion i must maintain the same pose for about 3 hours to a live casting with Aligenate material. Was very hard, and when all was finished was in really pain. I love being part of artists cration , but is really difficult sometimes. Cheers.

Taffy
Being a naturist & enjoying being & have no hang ups on being nude or being seen ( freedom in garden & on beaches)enjoy swims so would enjoy this past time wish I could find how to get started

bob
What a good story! I wish I had her courage...Having taken life drawing classes, I can say that after the first minute, eroticism fades and concentration absorbs the artist (and the model, too, I suspect!)

mel
i really want to do this

eric ball
I know what Rosemarie means. I have done life modelling and I liken posing to buying new shoes, comfortable to start with, but can be very uncomfortable after 5 minutes.

Paul
I have been a life model in melbourne australia for almost 15 years and have been a member of the life models society and guild. this group has been the most supportive and wonderful experience, I am proud to be associated and life modeling has enriched my life. we are trying to get in contact with other life model groups and create a worldwide contact and dialogue between models.

wow
nude posing i want to start taking art!!!

Leon
where does one go to volenteer for nude modeling i think it would be fun

Mac Macdonald
For 10 years I did life modelling in Swindon and the sourrounding area. Very liberating and I made a lot of good friends.

Carson Tripp
You seem to be a fairly good life model however after looking at your web site i was greatly dissapointed. It is very amateur, I think it would be advisable to dissasociate yourself from the fine art/photography side of things. The work is so poor its having a negative effect on what youre trying to do with your modelling

Eve Harvey
I've been a life model for many years. Earning one's living in the nude is the most liberating, exhilarating and enjoyable experience.

Tina
I am also do Life Modeling in the Cambridge area. I find it very relaxing and have meet many nice people. I am a student most of the time so I am very grateful of the money and the flexible hours. I think more advertising is needed for the life modeling jobs!

Kieth
I think it's a wonderful thing. Do all you can do with it. Your a very special person and it' great to have you among us

kate
you go girl! I wish i had her courage.

qamaran
i think we all came to live naked and leave the life naked too,for that between to nakeds it better to be naked all the time !

mr_thune
where does one go to volenteer for nude modeling i think it would be fun

Paul
I have never been a nude model, but I congratelate the lady.

Stephanie
This is so exciting! I plan to do it for sure. I'm a student at San Diego State University. I cannot ignore the sexual excitement of stripping naked in front of an entire class of students. I can hardly wait! It's a combination of fear, embarrasment, and excitement that turns me on.

nudepete
Well done .I usd to be a nude model at Newbury many years ago, and in the London area. Its a rewarding thing and the artists are very friendly. I must be one of the most drawn nudes having been a model for over 30 years.I was a RAM member too but I moved to Spain so had to give up but I now have a nudist club so am nude all the time.Over the years nature got the better of me sometimes but no one minded and it becomes an accepted thing nothing to panic over, Cearry on the good work.

Vincent ravening
Good article, I was RAM member in UK, worked for colleges in Reading Have another advert on net now i am ion Australia, mainly for requests to do modelling at hen nights Much more than just standing naked, men have to control certain areas and can be hard work but I enjoy the diffrent poses involved, got into it through my naturist group and going into an art class for work It is great to be naked and liberated, wish i had posed with a lady too

ed from ok
I have been modeling for many years. I have trained many models. The most inportant part is don"t look at the artist

dave from nz
hi i became life model as a result of a dare from a female flatmate who said i would be to shy to try . i will to admit to being a bundle of nerves the first time but did my 2hr class without blushing the ironic thing is i met my present lady in this class who no longer wants me to model nude

It's 12:26pm right now and I decided to be a nude model for my college. I will be modeling from 6pm-10pm. I've never done anything like this before, so naturally I'm nervous, but being that its so out there, I have to do it! I'm doing research on it right now and coming across your site has helped me in thinking of what I should do if I have an itch and on what to focus on. I'm really really nervous! :)

I think that Nude Models are special individuals because they truly appreciate art. I myself modeled before and I think it's not that easy to stand au naturel in front of strangers. Rosemarie is doing very good!

as a life model i find nothing disgusting about posing nude. We are all born naked. As a very shy person taking my clothes off has given me greater confidence. Trying new things like this has kept me on my toes. If showing my willy now and again helps me to be part of the creative process then i am all for it.

Disgusting !!

Thank you for your insight... I am looking into becoming a figure model and appreciate you sharing your experience.

I think that nude modeling is a good thing because it makes you be part of the art process the students are discovering. I model from time to time in South Florida. I admire this art form.

as being an art student ..i respect your boldness..

went to one of her classes on sunday she was a very good model, did some really really good poses, none of this sit-down-and-be-there stuff.the shapes that she made were brilliant big thanks from me

Larry
You are the best, I wish I had more time to model nude

Tim
Used to life model in my 20's. After initial embarassment you feel really empowered + liberated. Being completely naked in a room full of clothed people is the ultimate high ! Would love to do it again.

john mackinnon
good luck on what you have done

Simon
Showing full-frontal nudity to a crowd of strangers is a strange feeling at first but you soon get used to it. A bare willy is perhaps more disconcerting for the novice artist than for the model!

as an occasional model in auckland standing stil forlong periods can be tiring but enjoyable .problem is there is not much work in auckland im coming to england next year maybe i could model(life) in gb

A life model myself in the Phila. Pa area I have to agree with your article. Every thing you said I have experienced. It was if I had written the article

I think that the responces here show a common misconception. Modeling is not simply a case of taking your clothes off and standing there. - Nor is it an easy option for nudists to earn money. When delivered properley, it is a highly specialised and vital part of the artists portfolio. The model is the muse, the catalyst - the inspiration for the work and not a passive "bowl of fruit with a pulse". It is a serious and far from simple career choice that demands dedication to achieve success - and it looks as though Rosemarie appreciates this - good luck to you

When in college, I did nude modeling and enjoyed it. I am now a confirmed nudist and started a nudist group in the mostly rural state of South Dakota in the US

Rosemarie is obviously a very talented model to be getting so much work. The differance here seems to be that she has turned it into a sucessfull business. But what a gutsy lady to respond to a situation that normally throws any one out by taking such a bold step, - well done!

Pete
I started nude modeling last month, did it three times already. I was more nervous about the second time, as that was originally supposed to be the first time. After that, baby, it's easier!!
