Podcasts are radio or tv programmes that you can watch on a computer or a portable player. There are many different programmes to choose from.
To subscribe to a podcast you need to download special software available from sites such as iTunes, Juice or Dopler. This is usually free. Once you have got the software, you can subscribe or unsubscribe to any podcast you want. They all work in a similar way – you go to the website offering the software and simply download it. Once you’ve installed the software you can visit any webpage which offers podcasts and subscribe –usually with just one click.
Depending on the software, you can either copy the link or hit the subscribe button. Subscribing means each new episode gets sent to you automatically – just like subscribing to a magazine. You can listen to your podcast right away on your computer or, if you prefer, transfer to a portable player and listen on the move.
