What is broadband?

Things like watching TV and listening to the radio can be done with a broadband connection. That means that your home computer can do many of the things which you already have an appliance for, but with many advantages. You'll be able to have access to a huge selection of music, TV and radio programmes, but you will also be able to make phone calls and send videos to people who also have broadband.

Computers are great for keeping and managing collections of things too, like photos and music. It means you can share things with family and friends using the computer. If you missed a TV or radio programme, you can usually get hold of a copy online too, which is more than your radio can do!
