Which qualifications does the course support?

The WebWise Online Course is intended to prepare learners for formal assessment and accreditation.

All topics in the trips are mapped to the WebWise Online Course unit (formerly Becoming WebWise) that is attached to a number of ICT qualifications available in the UK.

Click here for further information on the associated qualifications.

Who do I register my learners with?

Awarding Bodies issue a unit certificate for the assessment for The WebWise Online Course (formerly Becoming WebWise).

All candidates must be registered with the relevant awarding body to get a certificate on successful completion of the online test. The BBC does not issue assessment certificates.

What is the assessment?

The assessment is made up of 12 multiple-choice questions and three short practical tasks designed to assess learners' ability to use e-mail and to navigate and search the internet.

Advice for students attempting the assessment is included in the course help section. You register your students for the assessment with your awarding body.

Where is the assessment?

To access the assessment you need the address of the assessment web page or URL and the tutor password. This is not distributed by the BBC.

Tutors must approach their awarding bodies and request the 'WebWise assessment URL and password'.
