How did you learn about the internet?
This is quite amusing, because about two years ago, I would have described myself as a complete technophobe.
People would say 'Oh I'll email you', and I thought 'you won't because I haven't got an email address!'
To be honest it was just my own fear. I didn't want to embrace it because it meant that I had to learn something.
And then I discovered eBay, which changed everything!
The first time I went on and saw the shoes and the bags, that was it. From eBay came everything else, mainly shopping I have to confess, I'm a woman after all.
Then I got my own e-mail address, and now I've even got a Blackberry to read my e-mails on the move. I'm very impressed with myself!
Did you find it easy?
I did and I was thinking, 'why did I stay away from this for so long, it's so straightforward?' You literally do what it tells you to do.
If you go to a shopping site it says 'for more details click here', and then it says 'add to basket.' Easy.
I don't know why I thought 'that's not for me - that's for whizz kids.'
What are your main activities online?
Shopping! I definitely do a lot of shopping around the world. I watch the History Channel quite a bit, and Discovery, so I like to know what's going on, and they both have great websites.
If there's a particular news story, I'll pop it into Google and check it out.
For my e-mail I use Blue Yonder, but not many people seem to have heard of them. The great thing is I don't seem to get too much junk. So it works fine for me.
For info type things, I'm one of those people that has a morbid fascination with crime, so I go to the Crime Library site. It's sponsored by Court TV, which I watched a lot in Los Angeles.
How do you find shopping online?
To be honest I don't really worry about it. A lot of the sites that I'm using are secure sites.
I'm using sites that have been recommended by friends. You have to be vigilant and not store your account details online, that's never cool.
My top list of shopping sites is, Net-a-Porter, who are great, eBay of course which I've mentioned and Jimmy Choo.
Also, we don't have Schuh in London, so I like to have a look at their website.
I also love looking for old soul albums, which you'll never see over here, on Amazon.com.
Another music thing that I keep in touch with on a regular basis is the Prince website, I'm a huge fan. The site keeps me up to date with his life.
How about news?
I use the BBC. For example, if you missed out on the beginning of a story and want to find out what happened from the beginning, the BBC is great for giving you all the information.
Sometimes, if I'm feeling in a gossipy mood I might take a look at Fox News.
Which site would you say you visit regularly?
It's got to be eBay. Actually I'm waiting to get something now. I think it's the fact that it's an auction. I'm a typical Aries woman and I love the battle!
When I get outbid on something I say 'I don't think so love', and I get straight back in there.
Do you use the internet for work?
I mainly use it for business e-mails at the moment, sending e-mails and attachments backwards and forwards all day every day.
When I can get my head round the technology a bit more, I'll try using the net to create music.
If you had a friend logging on for the first time, which site would you suggest they visit?
Well it depends, if it was a girlfriend then it would be eBay, but if it was mum then I would probably say the BBC website, because she would be interested in completely different things.
Your website is great, did you have much input into it?
I would love to say that it was all down to me, but I would be lying. It's down to the brilliant minds of the record label.
I'm not completely hands off though, I do answer fan mail that comes through the site.
Have you ever taken part in a web chat before?
My record company has organized a few in the past. At first it was very strange.
People start off asking you questions about the music and then the webcam goes on and they start asking things like 'what's that you're eating?' or 'what's written on your t-shirt'.
A bit freaky!
What's in store next?
Well after the tour has finished I'll get the chance to put down all the musical ideas that have been floating around in my head.
I want to follow up this album pretty quickly. Maybe I'll do a live album, something different, but I'm not a hundred percent sure yet.
