The internet has hundreds of different employment-related websites for all kinds of jobs.

Job-hunting on the internet allows you the freedom to go beyond your local job centre or graduate careers centre. All sorts of jobs from all across the UK and the world are just a mouse click away.

Save time filling out paper applications and sending off your CV in the post as many employers will accept you sending your covering letter by e-mail and even provide you with the chance to complete your application online.

Where to go first

If you've already worked out what job you want to do, then you have a head start, but if you're still not sure of what direction you want to take the amount of information on the net can be overwhelming.

Before you begin trawling through the thousands of permanent, temporary and contract jobs advertised on the web - you need to decide what you're looking for.

Websites like Careers A-Z and Prospects include a range of tests and questions to help you decide what career you'd like to take.

These career tests vary in their complexity, and the more questions you answer the more specific the answer will be. They'll even tell you what skills and qualifications you will need to get that perfect job.
