How can the net help me redesign my bathroom? Print this article

The net will help you find the materials, techniques, advice and inspiration you need to transform your bathroom.

It's great because you can get help from the experts, avoid making mistakes as you learn, and see what other people are up to.

If you aren't sure how to strip paint from a wall, you don't have to phone a friend - the BBC's own Handy Andy is there to help!

Inspiration

If you're stuck for ideas then there are lots of places to look on the web. If you're used to flicking through magazines for your ideas then why not do the same online?

Most major mags now have a website. There are also lots of sites put up by the DIY stores.

They hope to sell you the paint and other materials you'll use, but you don't have to buy from them - just get some inspiration.

BBC Homes

BBC Homes is a brilliant place to start because the BBC has pulled together all its DIY shows into one part of its website.

You can search through the bathroom designs from Home Front, Changing Rooms and the rest of your favourites, looking for a specific room you spotted on the box, or just browsing.

Here are pictures of the rooms you'll have seen on TV, and you'll find more details of where the ideas came from, so you can get lots of ideas of your own.

Head off to Design Inspiration and see what inspires you!

DIY stores

As well as selling you the stuff to fill it, the MFI website has a selection of articles on bathrooms and bathroom design.

Some of the ideas are a bit scary - they suggest you ask yourself whether your bathroom is in the right place, and consider moving it to a different room!

Have a look at Homebase too, as they also have over thirty articles on bathrooms. Look for them in their 'Ideas' section.
