Favourites are a list of web pages you have enjoyed visiting - in some web browsers they are called bookmarks.
Having a web page in your list of favourites means that it is easy to find next time you want to visit it.
For example if you like this article, add it to your favourites so you won't have to remember how you found it in the first place!
Making sense of the internet
There are billions of pages on the internet and new ones appear every day, so it can be easy to get lost and forget where you saw something you liked.
When you find a page you like, you can write down the address so you can visit it again.
Or you can try and remember all the links that you followed to get there!
But it's easiest just to add the page to your list of favourites - it helps make sense of the internet.
Adding to favourites
To add a page to favourites, simply click on the 'Favorites' menu at the top of your browser and select 'Add to favorites...'
A box will appear asking you to confirm that you want to add the page to your list of favourites.
The title of the page is used as the name of the new favourite, but you can give it any name you like.
