Tropical Storm Dolly lashes Mexico by Tomasz Schafernaker

Two day after Tropical storm Christobal lashed the USA’s eastern coast with heavy rain, another storm has formed out in the Atlantic Ocean. Tropical storm Dolly has been bringing heavy rain to the Yucatan Peninsula, with forecasters expecting more on the way. The National Hurricane Centre issued a warning from Campeche in south east Mexico to the Belize border in the north.

Further downpours are forecast over the next 24 hours, with up to 150mm (6 inches) forecast for the Peninsula, with up to 25cm (10 inches) in isolated spots. The storm is also predicted to bring strong winds and rain to the western tip of Cuba.

It has been an active start to the Hurricane season, which began at the start of June. Dolly became the fourth Atlantic storm to form this season, proceeding Cristobal which brought heavy rain to North Carolina over the weekend.
