Summary of UK Weather for Friday 11 April 2008.

Mainly dry overnight with some clear spells although showers at
times, mainly in the west. Chilly in the north with a frost locally.
It was less cold, but blustery in the southwest. During the day there
was a mixture of sunny spells and showers. The showers turned heavy
and thundery at times with squally downpours and hail in places,
particularly over eastern England. Winds remained light to the north
although it stayed blustery across Wales and southern England. Mostly
dry for central and eastern England this evening however, showers
continued elsewhere. A band of heavy and blustery showers spread
across Wales, the Midlands and the Southwest this evening giving some
hail and thunder. Temperatures were generally well below average for
the time of year.
