Warm Temperate

Warm temperate climates of the world

In some warm temperate areas, rain occurs all seasons but summer is the wettest time of the year and temperatures then are warm to hot. Winters are mild with occasional cold spells. Much of eastern China and the southeastern states of the USA are in this category (C1). Around the Mediterranean and some parts of central Chile, California and Western Australia, between 30-40 degrees latitude, the winters are generally mild with depressions bringing some winter rain, and summers warm and hot with little or no rain. (C2) Occasionally there are thundery spells during the summer, but severe weather, including frost and snow, is rare except over mountains.

Grapes grow well in these areas Ideal for Tourism and Agriculture

This type of climate is often ideal for tourism as generally there are sunny days throughout the year. These regions are very mild with comfortable temperatures and moderate rainfall and so are ideally suited to agriculture. Many fruits and vegetables grow well here, such as citrus, melons, grapes and olives.
