Weather Statistics - December 1999

December 1999 was a disturbed month with frequent gales and some snow in the north. Rainfall and sunshine were well above normal and there was a short wintry spell in the third week.

Temperature 5.0C 0.3C above average
Sunshine 2.03 hrs per day (mean total 63 hrs) 138% of average

This has been the sunniest December since 1962 and the wettest since 1994.
