Weather Statistics - August 1999

There was a very hot start to August, then mostly rather coll and unsettled. There were frequent thunderstorms and heavy downpours in places. However, the closing days of the month were generally warm and dry.

Temperature 16.2C 0.4C above normal
Sunshine 5.39 hrs per day (mean total 167 hrs) 96% of average

This has been the wettest and dullest August since 1992.
