It was a misty start to the day for some, mainly in central and eastern
parts of England ahead of a band of rain and cloud. The rain, which
was quite heavy in places, pushed east across much of the UK
through the day, clearing Wales and northern Ireland by early
morning, the east coast of England by early afternoon and eastern
Scotland by late afternoon.

Drier and brighter weather followed from the west, with warm sunshine breaking through in most areas. Onshore winds kept a sheet of low cloud feeding on to the east coast of Scotland, where it was quite chilly.

Highest max: Great Malvern 18.7C/65F
Lowest max: Inverbervie 8.1C/46F
Lowest min: Topcliffe 1.1C/34C

Highest rainfall: Dundrennan 12.8mm/0.5"
Sunniest: Filton 12.1 hours
