Largely dry overnight with prolonged clear spells across most of the UK which caused temperatures to fall rapidly overnight giving a frost in places. Eastern parts of the UK stayed mostly cloudy overnight with a few light showers and remained frost-free. A dry day today with sunny spells for most. Blustery showers however, continued to feed in over eastern England, coastal Scotland and other north-facing coast. These showers turned wintry at times in the east at times with some sleet and snow reported in places. Rain spread in to the north and west of Scotland this evening with some heavier outbreaks of rain at times. Elsewhere, it stayed dry and mostly cloudy although a few breaks in the cloud developed across southern parts of the country. Temperatures were generally close to or above average for the time of year although stayed well below average across the southeast of England.
