After a very wet night, rain continued across most areas south of
a line roughly the Humber to the Wirral through the morning, although there was very little over most of Kent, East Sussex, Cornwall and North Wales. The rain in southern Britain steadily petered out such that it became restricted to just Kent and east Sussex by dusk. Northeasterly winds were strong and gusty across Lincolnshire, East Anglia and parts of Southeast England.

Across Scotland, Northern Ireland and Northern England it was a brighter day with sunny spells in most areas, but scattered showers did feed into easten Scotland and Northeast England on the brisk northeasterly wind.
