More celestial photographs. The UK saw Venus and Jupiter in what astronomers call a planetary conjunction. George Brown took this photo on 14 March before the clouds closed in.

Saturday, 10 March at Applecross Bay. Fiona Mathews explains: "I was enveloped in a sleet/hail storm that bombarded me with sharp, icy pellets. Within 15 minutes the sun was shining brilliantly again. All in a day’s weather in the beautiful Scottish Highlands!"

Trevor Ridgers, Monday, 12 March: "The photo was taken looking down onto the Vale of Ewyas as a sea of fog filled the valley."
