Deserts

The Sahara is one of the best known deserts in the world, but as Bill Giles explains not all deserts are hot like this one.


Deforestation

Trees absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen into the atmosphere. Without them, our climate will change over the longer term.


Deluges

One of the wettest places in the world is Cherrapungi in northeast India. It gets over 10,000 mm (430 inches) of rain every year.
