Trevor Davies began his meteorological career in 1940 with the RAF. His wartime postings included West Africa, Italy, Greece and Austria. Returning to civilian life in 1946, he joined the Gloucester Met Office in 1947, transferring to the London Weather Centre in 1958. He was a BBC TV forecaster from 1958 to 1964 and on BBC Radio from 1959 until his retirement from the Met Office in 1978 after which he continued to serve for a time as a meteorological officer in the Middle East. His interests include golf and rugby.
