More about Sara Blizzard |
|||
Sara Blizzard is the weather presenter for BBC East Midlands Today, the regional news programme for the East Midlands. She began working on the programme in March 1999, when she came to the BBC from the cable channel Liverpool Live TV where she had worked as a news reader and reporter. Sara has also worked at several independent local radio stations in the Midlands, including a three and a half year period with Leicester Sound on its breakfast show. Her current role involves her preparing her daily forecasts in consultation with the Met Office and as the principal presenter she fronts both the lunchtime and main evening programme's weather forecasts. On Friday nights she presents "Preview", a what's on guide for the East Midlands. As well as her forecasts on BBC East Midlands Today, Sara also presents the afternoon weather bulletins for four BBC Local Radio stations in the area - BBC Radios Nottingham, Leicester, Derby and Lincolnshire - and the Asian Network. She works alongside Lukwesa Burak, who deputises for Sara on the lunchtime and evening news programmes BBC East Midlands Today, and is the weather presenter for BBC Local Radio in the East Midlands and the Asian Network. Another claim to fame for Sara is that she is the voice for the Traffic Master in-car information system used by a number of the world's leading car manufacturers. She says: "It's rather a strange feeling knowing that your voice is keeping motorists informed of traffic congestion all over the country!" |
