Nick joined the team presenting weather bulletins for Kent and Sussex in October 2003. It was a welcome chance to come home after spending the previous four years forecasting for an American television station in the shadow of the Rocky Mountains.
Born in York, Nick has worked for the BBC for most of his career including stints at BBC Radio York, BBC Radio Lancashire and BBC Southern Counties Radio. Being a weather presenter was an early ambition of his and he first achieved his aim as a relief presenter for BBC South Today in 1997-8.
Nick attended Nunthorpe Grammar School in York before going on to the University of Nottingham where he gained a BA in History/Politics. He also has an MA in Television Production from Syracuse University in New York and has just completed three years studying Meteorology.
While in the United States, Nick was honoured for his work to raise awareness of the dangers of severe weather and his reports on the impact of flooding on an Indian reservation.
Away from work, he likes to keep fit by playing football but whether he's in the office or not, he always keeps a close eye on the weather.
