Look East Weather - More about Julie Reinger
Look East Weather - A typical day

Julie Reinger is weather presenter for BBC Look East, the regional news programme for the East.

Born in Oxfordshire, she studied Broadcast Journalism at the Nottingham Trent University before joining BBC Radio Nottingham as a newsroom assistant in 1992. After working in a number of different posts there, including programme presentation, she moved to television as Picture Editor and Planner for BBC East Midlands Today, based in its Leicester office.

During this time Julie also stood in as BBC East Midlands Today's weather forecaster whenever the then regular presenter, Lisa Dransfield, was unavailable. When Lisa went on maternity leave in 1998, Julie was invited to take on the role for six months, presenting the weather for the programme's viewers five nights a week.

Julie went back to the BBC East Midlands Today Leicester Planning Desk when Lisa Dransfield returned from maternity leave in October 1998, but shortly after was asked to join the BBC's regional news programme for the Eastern Counties, BBC Look East, as its full-time weather presenter. She started work on the programme, which is based in Norwich, in February 1999.

As well as doing lunchtime and nightly forecasts for BBC Look East, Julie also presents weather bulletins for five BBC Local Radio stations in the area - BBC Essex, BBC Three Counties Radio and BBC Radios Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire.

Julie is married, and lists watching old movies, horse-riding and rollerblading amongst her interests away from work.
