Helen Willetts 'Best Weather Presenter'

Frank Greene joined the Met Office in 1952 and, until 1963, worked at various UK RAF stations and civil airports as a scientific assistant observing the weather. He then spent three years at an RAF base in Germany followed by a posting to Northern Ireland.

In 1972, promotion took him to HQ RAF Strike Command for five years after which he went to London Weather Centre where much of his time was spent producing forecasts for BBC national and local radio and independent local radio, eventually leaving the Met Office in 1995. He appeared as a BBC TV forecaster from September 1980 to March 1981. He enjoys golf, music - especially jazz - and travel.
