Tony Griffiths, from the Durham Photographic Society, tells how a statue in Durham Cathedral inspires him.

Tony describes the statue as "truly divine".

Statue of the Annunciation, Galilee Chapel, Durham Cathedral by Jozef Pyrz

"This is a sublimely beautiful work of art by Jozeh Pyrz, located in the glorious Galilee Chapel, Durham Cathedral.

"Carved in English Oak, the face of Mary reflects three ethnic origins.

"I find myself uplifted every time I see her and have photographed her many times (with the permission of the Cathedral Chapter House, of course). Truly divine!"
