I'm paying for a premium rate services I don't want

If you've been charged for premium rate calls you think you shouldn't be paying for, contact Icstis, the industry regulator for the premium rate industry. You can complain using their freephone number, or through their website.

Icstis can give you details about the company charging you so you can contact them and query the charge.

If they think you may have been unfairly charged, then Icstis will investigate further and give you a case reference number. If you give this reference number to your mobile phone company, and tell them Icstis are investigating, they may allow you to withhold payment on the premium rate calls until the dispute is settled.

Often you may have to pay the charge and then try to get a refund from the company.

If a premium rate company is found to have breached the code of conduct, Icstis can fine them, or even revoke their licence and stop them from trading. They may also be able to help you get compensation.
