The great Welsh poet explains his opposition to the Vietnam War Ronald Stuart Thomas (1913 to 2000), the priest and poet, was one of Wales's greatest literary voices, a nominee for the Nobel Prize for Literature, and a man of powerful conscience. In 1968 in the New Statesman he wrote: 'When American editors ask for my work these days, I reply that as long as America is engaged in unjust war in Vietnam I would feel myself compromised in contributing to her newspapers.' Here, he explains his opposition to the Vietnam War.
