Jinks at work Neil Jenkins, rugby legend and Welsh sporting hero Neil Jenkins was one of Wales greatest sportsmen for over 10 years. Born in Llantwit Fardre, he was known to his fans as a real working class hero, a boy who remembered his roots. He won his first full Welsh cap at the age of 19 against England; it was one of 87 - not including another four for the Lions - making him the country's most capped player. He also held the record as the worlds highest point-scorer. He played his last game for Wales in May 2003 against the Barbarians.
