Broadcaster Hywel Davies dissects the national character in his radio lecture Hywel Davies was a highly distinguished figures in Welsh broadcasting, and Head of Programmes for BBC Wales. A few weeks before his death in September 1965, he went to London to give a lunchtime lecture on the role of the regions in broadcasting and to ask the question: 'What is Welshness?'
