Welsh rugby fans journey to Paris to follow their team Grand Slam is a translation of a play by Gwenlyn Parry. It's the story of a pilgrimage to Paris by a motley crew of Welshmen from the valleys of South Wales, ostensibly to see the France v Wales Rugby International. For one member, Hugh Griffith, who plays the village undertaker, the game is merely an excuse to take a trip down memory lane, recalling the halcyon days of 1944 when he was 'comforted in his hour of need'. Windsor Davies is another of the company who loses his way in Paris.
