Below is a list of some of the most Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) we receive. If the question you have is not answered here feel free to get in touch.
Q. What's this website all about?
A. This website is about and for South West Wales. The place, its people, local news, views, pictures, stories, events listings and lots, lots more! We want to ensure that this website is as representative as possible and welcome contributions and feedback.
Q. Who looks after this website?
A. The Where I Live website for South West Wales is run by a dedicated team of three staff - who are also local people - out of the BBC Studio in Carmarthen.
Q. Great! How do I contribute?
A. Contact us with your idea, article, photos or anything else you'd like to share. You can also tell us about an event you're holding, recommend places to go, great surf beaches, or simply talk about what you love about the area in I Love Wales.
Q. How can I contact the team?
A. You can contact us by filling in this form page or by sending email to: wales.southwest@bbc.co.uk
Wherever possible we prefer material via email, though you can also get in touch at our postal address:
BBC Where I Live website, Priory House, Priory Street, Carmarthen SA31 1NE.
Q. Do you have any tips on writing for this website?
A.Use British English spelling - not American English! Make sure you're writing in the right tense. Don't use long strings of CAPITALS - this is considered 'shouting' on the Internet. If you're writing an article be brief wherever possible - research shows that people tend to 'scan' pages on the web rather than reading them in detail immediately - so shorter pieces are often more effective.
Q. What format do I send in articles to you?
A. Articles, features or other text contribututions can be sent to us as 'plain text' in an email or as Microsoft Word document attachments (saved as .doc format files). Please do not attach images inside the documents - send them as seperate attachments.
Q. What format do I send digital/scanned photos to you?
A. All photos sent via email should be sent as a JPEG file (.jpg, .jpe, .jpeg). Once again contact us if you are unsure how to do this.
Q. What about the law? Who owns anything I decide to submit?
A. By contributing to this site you are granting the BBC a non-exclusive licence to distribute and edit the material you submit in any way and in all media. You still own the copyright to everything you contribute and you are free to take what you have written and re-publish it somewhere else. (See the bbc.co.uk Terms Of Use for the full terms of our rights.)
Q. Can I submit content to you in Welsh?
A. Gallwch! Yes! Welsh Language content will be passed to our sister website "Lleol I Mi - De Orllewin" which can be found on BBC Wales' Welsh Language online service Cymru'r Byd.
Q. I've heard that there is a BBC Wales Bus serving South West Wales? What is this?
A.The BBC Wales Bus is a mobile 'community studio' visiting towns and villages across Mid and South West Wales. On it you can surf the net, find out more about BBC Wales services on air and online, and contribute to BBC programmes and websites. To find out more about the Bus - where it's been, what you can do on it and where it's going - visit our dedicated BBC Wales Bus mini-site.
Q. I have a question about other BBC Wales programmes and services...
BBC Wales runs a dedicated feedback and information centre - BBC Information Wales - who can help with your questions and take feedback on any BBC programmes and services. Click here to find out more.
Q: What other local Where I Live websites are there?
The BBC runs local 'Where I Live' websites for almost every part of the UK, with five dedicated sites in Wales - for North West, North East, South East, South West and Mid Wales, along with a site for the whole of Wales and dedicated services in Welsh on Cymru'r Byd. If you'd like to find out more about sites in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland, visit the BBC Where I Live homepage.
