    Estyn Llaw Scheme
    Estyn Llaw aims to develop bilingualism in the voluntary sector in Wales. They can offer help to you via workshops and training, and they can help you publicise volunteering opportunities amongst Welsh speakers.

    Llanelli Mind Befriending Scheme
    The scheme created a website to provide information on the organisation and what the organisation's workers are trying to achieve in the Carmarthen area. The site explains what exactly befriending involves, the sort of training for new volunteers, and the benefits of the project.

    Swansea Council for Voluntary Service
    Swansea Council for Voluntary Service is the umbrella organisation for voluntary activity in the City and County of Swansea, supporting, developing and representing voluntary organisations, volunteers and communities in Swansea.

    Neath Port Talbot Council for Voluntary Service
    Established in April 1997, Neath Port Talbot CVS support, promote and develop the participation of voluntary organisations, community groups and individuals in the voluntary sector in Neath Port Talbot.

    South Wales Community Cinema Group
    Information on this community group which is made up of a group of volunteers who work together to offer a mobile cinema service to the local communities in South Wales.

    RSVP - Retired and Senior Volunteer Programme
    Nationwide organisation that encourages those aged 50 plus to participate in volunteering. Projects in Pembrokeshire include school reading schemes, cars for carers and knitting.

    Swansea Latin American Association
    The Swansea Latin American Association is a voluntary group based in the Uplands. They have over 70 members and they promote Latin American culture in the city. This site was nominated by Tanya May.

    CAVS - Carmarthenshire Association of Voluntary Services
    CAVS arethe County Voluntary Council for Carmarthenshire.They are a registered charity which provides advice, information, and support to voluntary and community groups.

    Dragon Arts Centre
    Arts centre in Swansea which offers free classes and training to anyone who has experienced homelessness or social exclusion, and who may have difficulty accessing mainstream education.

    Many Tears Animal Rescue
    Information on the Many Tears Rescue Centre in Cefneithin, Carmarthenshire. They operate a no kill policy - dealing mainly with ex farmed and death row pound dogs.

    Swansea Small Animal Rescue
    Swansea Small Animal Rescue provides services to neglected and at risk small animals. They aim to create a loving and secure environment for these at-risk animals, while working to resocialize and re-home when possible.

    Daily Dose

    Black and Ethnic Minority Support Team
    BEST has been formed with the aim of providing support to Black Minority Ethnic communities and organisations within the scope of the Communities First Programme. Funded by the Welsh Assembly, the whole ethos of BEST is to work in partnership to enable BME communities to develop the skills and resources they need to make meaningful and sustained change in their lives.

    Age Concern seek to provide a public voice for older people in Wales and to raise awareness of the issues of importance to them. Join the older people's network or find out how to help the group.

    MEWN Cymru
    Working with black and ethnic minority women in Wales - providing training opportunities, information, support, and networking. Find out about their IT training, activities, and campaigns. MEWN Cymru has a branch in Swansea.

    MIND
    Mind is the leading mental health charity in England and Walesm whose aim is to create a better life for everyone with experience of mental distress. Useful fact sheets to different types of mental health problems.

    Prism
    Prism is the Mid and West Wales Alcohol and Drug Advisory Service, a community based specialist agency offering free advice, support and information to people who have problems related to their own or someone else's use of alcohol. Their teams are based in Carmarthen, Ceredigion, Haverfordwest and Llanelli.

    Samaritans
    If you want to discuss a problem with someone, the Samaritans offer help over the phone 24 hours a day or in person at one of their centres. You can contact them by phone, email or letter. Local branches are found in Swansea and Haverfordwest. Courses are offered to people who would like to take part in voluntary work with the organisation.

    Shelter Cymru
    Shelter Cymru works for the prevention of homelessness and the improvement of housing conditions in Wales, and the "right of everyone to a safe, suitable, affordable home." Find out about Housing Rights Surgeries held around Wales here. You can also email in your questions and queries.

    Tenovus is the Welsh cancer charity. They offer a free phone helpline or you can send in questions via email. You can also find out how to raise money for the charity through fundraisnihg events on the site.

    Volunteering Wales
    This site lists all of the opportunities in every Volunteer Bureau in Wales. Offices co-ordinating volunteers in South-West Wales are located in Haverfordwest, Carmarthen, Swansea and Ystradgynlais.

    WCVA is the voice of the voluntary sector in Wales. They represent and campaign for voluntary organisations, volunteers and communities in Wales.

    Womens Aid
    Womens Aid is a national charity working to end domestic violence against women and children. Their mission is to advocate for abused women and children and to ensure their safety by working locally and nationally.
