Open University in Wales Information on one of the largest providers of part time higher education in the UK. They provide flexible support, tailored to the needs of the individual student and their area of study.

University of Wales Swansea With over 10,000 students, Swansea offers 529 undergraduate courses both on a full and part time basis. This site offers lots of detailed information on the college and its set-up: each department has its own guide where you can read information specifically written for prospective students. New courses introduced in 2003 included Criminology, Aerospace Engineering and Maths for ICT.

Swansea Institute of Higher Education Swansea Institute offers a wide range of under and post-graduate courses, with a section on the site deals solely with clearing. If you haven't visited the college you can take a look at it's 360-degree tours.

Swansea College Swansea College offers a range of validated HNDs and HNCs, which include subjects such as Hospitality Management and Mulitmedia. Acceptance onto the Sports Science course allows direct access to the second year of the BSc. Sports Science degree at Swansea University. All new students follow a tailored induction week.

Neath Port Talbot College A growing number of students are choosing to continue at Neath Port Talbot College by moving onto their higher education programme. HNCs and HNDs are offered in conjunction with four Welsh colleges - courses available include Broadcast Media, Computing and Performing Arts.

Trinity College Carmarthen Trinity is the second oldest institution offering higher education in Wales. The college is divided into three faculties: Arts, Education, and Environment. Single, joint and combined studies BAs are offered here along with a variety of new BSc and higher degrees. This site is fully bilingual.

Carmarthenshire College Carmarthenshire College offers courses in both further and higher education in it's five campuses - Ammanford, Graig, Jobs Well, Pibwrlwyd and Gelli Aur. Courses include HNCs in Computer Aided Learning. You'll find information about work-based learning and the college's online learning courses.

Pembrokeshire College This college is the largest provider of 'post-16' education and training in Pembrokeshire, and courses include Foundation Degrees in Sports Science and Information Technology. You can also apply for a course online.

UCAS - Universities and Colleges Admissions Service If you want to apply for any higher education course in the UK you'll need to do so through UCAS, and all the information you need regarding applications and how the process works can be found on their site. Once the formal application processes are over, Summer sees 'Clearing' begin, where institutions make vacant places on courses available for late application. This process usually starts in August - visit the site for more details. If you plan to apply for a Clearing course you will have to complete a Clearing Entry Form, and it's then up to you to contact institutions directly.

BBC Wales - Just The Job A colourful and easy-to-use bilingual guide to the world of clearing, gap years and universities. There's also guides to resources on the web, and in the Chat section you can read about the Next Step After A Levels and GCSEs.

BBC Radio One - One Life The 18+ section of this site offers a wealth of information on educational decisions that can be taken at this age.
