Ghostly Gunshots

Christopher from Neath tells a tale of ghosts, guns - and unwanted visitors...

"I used to live in an old farmhouse. It was about 300 years old and in the middle of nowhere, near Brecon. My family all remember many of the strange goings on which happened."

"One night when I was little I heard the sound of a carriage coming over the gravel. I could hear horses neighing. We hadn't kept horses for a while by then. I went to look out the window, but there was nothing there."

"A few weeks later I woke up in the middle of the night. I could feel someone sitting at the bottom of my bed and heard breathing, but when I put the light on there was no-one there. Another time we were all watching TV when it switched off, then the lights went. My father tried the fuse box but nothing worked. As we sat with the candles lit we heard voices outside, followed by gun shots. We went to the window but again, no one was there. All of a sudden the lights and TV came back on. No-one slept that night."

"We moved out not long later, it was getting too much but as we searched the cellar for stuff to pack we found a chest. In the chest was an 18th century pistol with bullets. We took it outside and buried it.Since then we've had no complaints from the new owners."
