This view illustrates the impressive scale and size of the building. The huge arched opening is fully glazed with an impressive pediment classical bronze door inset to give exactly the right feeling of dignity to the civic business beyond - council offices and law courts. You can see the scale and the quality of the purpose-made bronze light fittings flanking the entrance steps. The view is spolit only by that modern phenomenon - huddled smokers, banned to the outside of our public buildings.
